Final EKL Match of the Year

Game 14: 12 October vs. at AnDAC BV West (1-2)

After such a nice win on Tuesday, we were disappointed to follow it up with a loss in our final EKL match of the season. We finished nothing special—4-3-1 in league, probably tied for 3rd.

We opted to mark Mabry out, and I guess it somewhat worked first half with the score ending 0-0, and we did just miss on a couple—Curt rang one up on the woodwork as did Martinek just miss on a corner. And then there was the handball in the box that was ruled out of the box (Check it out). But we did not generate very much attack. We had one corner for the entire game.

We have got to be zipping around more offensively.  And then second half we got out of shape on a shot that Mogren saved, not having a player covering the back post; so a clear became a tap-in.

And then shortly thereafter we lost Mabry as he came on to drill one from maybe inside the top of the box on a t-ball. It was a rocket, but . . .

We played the rest of the half in a diamond, and we took over all possession. We finally got one goal off a great t-ball from Arias, but all we could do was come awfully close a few times after that.

But the coaching staff liked those last 20 minutes after their second goal.
